Insider guide

Shopping North Park.

The story

North Park's shops center on 30th St from Upas St to Lincoln Ave and University Ave from 28th St to 32nd St, with Ray St between University Ave and North Park Way a block east of 30th. All three are within a few blocks, so you can park once at the city garage at 3829 29th St and walk; some shops validate in one-hour increments. The mix is vintage, Mexican folk art and home goods, records, books, sneakers and gifts, almost all independent.

Ray Street

Ray St packs small shops into one block. Artelexia (3803) sells Mexican folk art, handmade jewelry, textiles and a large Día de Muertos selection, and its sister shop Casa y Cocina (3813) carries handcrafted Mexican kitchenware, tableware, Otomí textiles, baskets and pantry items. Casa Palma Dulce (3830, Suite B) is a self-care shop and botánica with candles, crystals, ofrenda decor and Talavera pieces. Hunt & Gather (3817) mixes vintage, new and original clothing with handmade jewelry and art, and The Gold Dust Collective (3824) sells fashion, handmade hats, boots, leather goods, oddities and rare plants. Revival Vintage Eyewear (3821) stocks 500+ unworn vintage frames from the 1960s to 2000s, including Dior, Cazal and YSL, and cuts prescription lenses same day in its own lab. Replay Toys Boutique (3825) is the block's toy shop.

30th Street and University Avenue

On 30th St, Verbatim Books (3793) has over 60,000 used and antiquarian titles plus zines, tarot decks and art prints, and it buys and trades books Mondays and Fridays 11am–4pm. Pigment (3801), at North Park Way, sells candles, jewelry, beauty and kids' goods with a houseplant section. Overload (3827) carries limited-edition Nike SB, Jordan and New Balance Numeric sneakers and skate decks, George's Camera (3837) sells, rents and repairs Canon, Nikon and Sony gear and stocks film, and Visual Art + Supply (3776-3778) is a gallery and art-supply shop. Further south, Presley & Co Fine Jewelers (3392) does engagement rings, fine jewelry and pre-owned watches, in store only.

University Ave has the vintage. Day to Day Vintage (3063) sells hand-picked clothing from the 1940s to the 2000s, heavy on tees, outerwear and denim from Levi's, Wrangler and Carhartt, and The Girl Can't Help It covers the 1920s to the 1980s with a specialty in Golden Age of Hollywood pieces. Shop Good sells clean beauty from Westman Atelier, Monastery and Ursa Major, Nook + Pantry (3043) mixes home goods and hostess gifts, and Purrgatory (2879) is a gift shop for cats and cat lovers. Red Brontosaurus Records sells new punk, hardcore and indie vinyl plus retro video games and consoles.

Two food and plant stops round it out. Bodega Rosette (3772 30th St) is a small bottle shop built around gins and natural wines, and North Park Nursery, west of the core, sells indoor and outdoor plants, pots and garden supplies daily 10am–5pm.

Eating Between Shops

Mabel's Gone Fishing (3770 30th St), on the same block as Bodega Rosette, holds a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand (2026) for seafood with Iberian touches, natural wine and gin cocktails. À L'ouest, at 30th and University, is Brad Wise's wood-fired French brasserie, opened in February 2026, with steak au poivre and a raw bar. Siamo Napoli (3959 30th St), further up 30th St, serves Neapolitan pizza and homemade pasta.

When to Go

Most shops open 10–11am and close 6–7pm, a little later Thursday to Saturday. The Ray St shops Artelexia, Casa y Cocina, Casa Palma Dulce and Revival keep Mon–Sat 11am–6pm and Sun 11am–5pm, Day to Day Vintage is open daily 11am–7pm, and Pigment and Overload stay open to 8pm on Saturday. Watch the short weeks: Red Brontosaurus opens only Wed–Sun, from 1pm on weekdays, Purrgatory is closed Monday and George's Camera is closed Sunday. Hunt & Gather, The Gold Dust Collective and Presley & Co don't post hours, so call ahead. Day to Day Vintage has hosted a monthly third-Saturday vintage market on North Park Way between 29th St and Ray St; check its site for the current schedule.
